Special Session Continues Attack – China Hub Bill
Posted on September 19, 2011 | 1 CommentAlthough we have made great headway, these bills are still bad and need to be killed. Most of the China Hub bill was gutted in the Senate, but there is still plenty of unconstitutional subsidy left in it. What's more, the House can add any or all of the original language back in. The MOSIRA bill may be as bad as ever. It opens a door for public subsidy for private research, and that's bad enough, but there's potential for subsidizing the destruction of human embryos and cloning research, too. -

Governor Nixon Calls Lawmakers to Capitol Sep. 6
Posted on August 30, 2011 | No CommentsThe only thing special about this special session are the benefits targeted for special interest groups. Governor Nixon is calling Missouri lawmakers back to the Capitol on September 6 in an attempt to push through a bill that failed to make it through the regular session earlier this year. Following the maxim, “If you don’t at first succeed then, try, try, again until you get what you want!”, GOP legislators are promoting this special interest scheme as a “jobs creation “ bill, that will supposedly rescue Missouri from a slumping economy. Thankfully, there have been plenty of naysayers, who have exposed the backroom dealings that put the Aerotropolis idea before the Missouri lawmakers. Check out this link for a thorough examination and presentation of the facts of this “China Hub” deal. http://www.businessinsider.com/missouris-republicans-are-self-destructing-2011-8 Also, tucked away in the economic omnibus bill is the Missouri Science Innovation & Reinvestment Act (MOSIRA). “MOSIRA sets up a fund, channeled through the state budget and to be administered by the pro-cloning Missouri Technology Corporation, to provide state money or tax incentives for new technology businesses, including businesses engaged in human life science research. MOSIRA only requires unethical research to be reported. -
President Obama’s Debt Reduction Speech – A Constitution Party Response
Posted on July 26, 2011 | No CommentsLast night President Obama addressed the nation in prime time concerning what he called “a debate we’ve been having in Washington over the national debt—a debate that directly affects the lives of all Americans.” The president’s position as announced in his speech could be summarized by saying that he emphasized Image by AgnosticPreachersKid and what he called a balanced approach over the position of the Republican House. He said that compromise is a good thing, and he mentioned Ronald Reagan as an example of one who agreed with him about compromise. His balanced approach would trim $4 trillion from the deficit over 10 years. Assuming interest rates do not increase over the next 10 years, that would reduce the rate of increase in the national debt from a projected $10 trillion to about $6 trillion, leaving a national debt of about $21 trillion. -
Independence Now, Independence Forever!
Posted on July 4, 2011 | 1 CommentIndependence Now, Independence Forever! When one thinks of fiery and passionate speakers during the War for Independence, John Adams does not normally make the A list. Yet, it was Adams, who delivered the passionate oration that moved the delegates to declare their independence from Great Britain. As you gather with friends and family this Independence Day, perhaps you may want to share Adams’ speech with them. Maybe, his words will... -
Imperfect People vs. The Rule of Law
Posted on June 20, 2011 | No CommentsCongressman Anthony Weiner, D-New York has received a lot of publicity lately. He twisted and squirmed like a worm in the sun attempting to rationalize his behavior. Finally after two agonizing weeks, he committed an honorable act and resigned his office. Former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, R-California announced recently that he had fathered a child out of wedlock with one of his house servants. Jesse Jackson, Sr. and Jesse Jackson, Jr.... -
Looking for Mr. Right in 2012 – No pun intended!
Posted on May 31, 2011 | 1 CommentThe American Thinker recently published an article by Carol Taber, president of Family Security Matters, entitled “Come Out, Come Out, Wherever You Are – Our Nation Needs a Leader.” Her plea for a leader is accompanied by the following critique of the current crop of possible candidates. All our putative frontrunners (ever narrowing) are either retreads, dull, old, polarizing, odd, not trustworthy, not ready, or not telegenic. They have excess... -
Government Help is NOT the Answer
Posted on May 31, 2011 | No CommentsHope does not come through government, but through the hand of God as He moves through the courage, sacrifice and kindness of people. It is fitting, I believe, on this Memorial Day as we honor and remember the courage and sacrifice of those in the past, who gave their all, that we should also celebrate and acknowledge the very same spirit of courage and sacrifice that is found here among... -
A Memorial Day Message
Posted on May 31, 2011 | No CommentsMemorial Day - Joyce Kilmer The bugle echoes shrill and sweet, But not of war it sings to-day. The road is rhythmic with the feet Of men-at-arms who come to pray. The roses blossom white and red On tombs where weary soldiers lie; Flags wave above the honored dead And martial music cleaves the sky. Above their wreath-strewn graves we kneel, They kept the faith and fought the fight. Through... -
Fair Tax? Flat Tax? The Case for No Tax
Posted on May 31, 2011 | No Comments| Print | E-mail Written by Bob Adelmann Tuesday, 31 May 2011 10:00 Stephen Moore’s math in his Wall Street Journal article is compelling: by the time the Democrats’ proposed three-percent surtax on incomes over $1 million a year is added to all the other taxes people pay, those at the high end would be paying 62 percent of their income in federal and state income taxes. He adds together...
